Сборка рибосомных частиц из РНК и белковых компонентов. Координируется у эукариот и прокариот таким образом, что не накапливаются ни избыток белка, ни избыток нуклеиновых кислот. У Escherichia coli синтез белков контролируется на уровне транскрипции генами, ответственными за рибосомные белки и функционирующими как опероны.
